Monster Tote loved partnering with local business owners to support a school supplies donation drive through Big Brothers, Big Sisters in Omaha! For many families in the Omaha metro, going school supplies shopping is an exciting time, but not all families look forward to this time of year. For some families, it is a financial stretch to buy school supplies, let alone new clothes, sports equipment, dance uniforms etc.
Big Brothers, Big Sisters in Omaha is a wonderful organization that pairs adult volunteers with children in the Omaha/Council Bluffs metro in order to develop positive friendships and mentoring relationships. In addition, they offer camps and workshops for kids, as well as work to ensure the basic needs of families are met. Their recent school supplies donation drive was part of this initiative, and Monster Tote was excited to contribute to this cause! Monster Tote is also grateful to Regi Powell at Club Pilates and Moriah Brookshier at Deka Lash for partnering with us in this endeavor. Each of them offered to place Monster Totes in their local businesses for people to place school supplies donations in. Club Pilates provides low-impact, full-body workouts for all ages (https://www.clubpilates.com/ lakeside), and Deka Lash specializes in eyelash extensions and offers skin-care products as well (https://www.dekalash.com/find-a studio/nebraska/west-maple).
Packing all the school supplies at each of their businesses was simple; no one had to assemble and tape cardboard boxes, and since Monster Totes are sturdy and weather resistant, there was no worry that the school supplies would be crushed or damaged due to bad weather (both of which often happen with cardboard boxes). The totes full of school supplies were then easily loaded in the Monster Tote van, since they are all the same size and stack uniformly. Plus, because of the size of the Monster Tote van, it only took one trip to Big Brothers, Big Sisters!
